Wow... in 2009, I posted that I was almost finished with the text part of the book. It's been done (mostly) for a few months. I just need art. Lots of art. I can't afford art, but I can't do it all myself. I've had a few people help here and there, I know, but... it still seems to be an overwhelming prospect. I plan to try to publish this somehow... but I need art. You will get credit. I have 400+ pages of a well-thought-out Universe, that's the culmination of almost 4 decades of my imagination... If you're interested, please let me know. :)

I'm closing in on finishing the text portion of my RPG. Over 200,000 words, and 302 pages. I'm exploring publishing options, and I'm gonna need art. I'm planning to do much of the art myself, but I'm also thinking of hosting a kickstarter to help pay for some more professional work. Anyone out there interested in contributing?

Well, I've decided I don't like the wings as arms thing. I'm gonna be changing the Bampu and Dorogo back to hexapedal critters, with separate arms and wings... Trying to force myself to draw them otherwise has completely locked up my desire to draw... I've let other people's opinion on how these races 'should' look make me second-guess everything.

Anyone have any good samples of aliens with feathery wing-arms? I'm still trying to draw this, and not liking many of the results. The anatomy of having a wing that also functions as a grasping, manipulating arm and hand just seems weird to me.

I've already gotten some good feedback on this subject;

I have been having a discussion with friends about a dragon-like race I designed a long time ago called the Dorogo. In the first drawings I made, the Dorogo had arms that were also leathery wings; anatomy similar to the dragon in the Dragonslayer movie.

Then, years later, I started drawing them with arms separate from their wings, which were placed on the back; a hexapedal-type anatomy that I'd seen was popular. I want to stick with the wings on the back thing, but my co-conspirators say it's better to have arm-wings.

And, we've discussed making them more like the archaeopteryx, with feathery wings.

What are your feelings on arm-wings vs. separate wings on the back, and leathery wings vs. feathery?

Whichever way I decide, will affect the other race from the Dorogo homeworld, the Bampu, as they need to share a similar anatomy.
